November here in Hamburg is cold, dark, wet and quite melancholic.
I had this exceptional piece of zebrano that was begging me to be turned into a knife.
I forged this highend damascus sanmai blade over an UHC/tungsten core.
The pattern that was needed here was obvious to me, so I stayed as close I could to the wood´s pattern itself.
This colour of zebrano is everywhere around at this time of the year, be it the fallen leaves, the trees bark,
It is to be seen during the short time of the day that isn´t too gloomy.
For the Nupsi called securing peg, I chose to take a piece of padouk, for its dark red hue, like some maple leaf fallen over a bed of beech leaves…
Novembre, the highend Petty stayed with me for awhile since it was a free work from my own creative cravings and urgings.
This year it finally found its owner: a charming lady fell in love with it and had to have it.
My special thanks go to my nephew Alexandre Tritz , who kindly shot these pictures for me.
